The result of a collaboration with Salal Architecture, this home is situated on a very large property and faces a small stream. Located approximately twenty miles from the town of Merritt, B.C., the house is decidedly vernacular. Cladding materials include cedar shingles, cedar board and batten, and standing seam metal roofing. Spaces are minimal - two storey living and dining rooms, kitchen, guest and bath occupy the main level. Loft, master bed/ensuite are located on the second level. As local bylaws require duplexes to be connected by at least one wall, a meditation room off the master bedroom provides a connector for a future 'suite over garage' addition.
