This project is an investigation into a linear plan, utilizing opague and transparent planes to organize a very straightforward program. Comprised essentially of two houses linked by a common court, the project is intended to occupy a property that has a strong orientation to a view - a lakefront, for instance. The assumption is that the home would be occupied by a mature couple full-time during the summer months, with the 'guest wing' functioning as a weekend getaway suite for their children. Construction would be poured concrete walls with cedar accents and detailing. Storefront glazing completes the envelope, and glazed garage doors in the living room open to provide direct acesss to the site.
